The 2015-2016 season of “POV” begins on PBS this Monday night June 22nd. The premier film is “Out in the Night” by blair dorosh-walther about the 2006 case of The New Jersey 4, a group of four African-American lesbians who are threatened on the streets of New York City, defend themselves, and are then put on trial for gang assault, assault, and attempted murder. The film examines the roles of race, gender identity, and sexual orientation in today’s criminal justice system and whether everyone actually receives their fundamental right to a fair trial or not.
